The Egyptian Museum

Walking through the Egyptian museum and all of its treasures, mummies, old pharaohs life tools, thrones, masks is a journey through history.

At the home of more than 150000 pieces of ancient Egyptian history, you’ll never get bored.

How to go to the Egyptian Museum

1- By Metro – Sadat Metro station then follow street signs in the metro station that will get you in front of the Egyptian museum.

2- Uber or Taxi with an average of 20 EGP from Zamalek or Downtown to the Egyptian museum / 60-70 EGP from Maadi to the Egyptian Museum.

There is a quick security check as you enter the area from the street. Then there is often a line to go through the security check as you enter the actual museum compound, but it moves quickly.

Although there are explanation and details written beside every single item in the museum, It’s always better to know the story behind the statues you’re seeing that’s why you have to watch this fully guided tour at the Egyptian Museum and read about the Egyptian history or hire a guide.

So amazing how a young King like Tut Ankh Amoun has a huge number of golden treasures as he has died before even turning 20 years old.

I keep wondering about the number of treasures other pharaohs kings like Ramses II had after living till his 90s!
